Of Orcs and Men – challenge yourself

Of Orcs and Men is a game produced by Cyanide, a gaming company known for doing thing half good. Despite of their reputation, with this game they have managed to create a good one – mainly because they have change a little bit the classic stories that the players were used to.

Of Orcs and Men is a game where the orcs and goblins are positive characters, the human race is the bad character that tries to make the “good” characters to be their slaves. As you can imagine, the orcs don’t want that, so they try to make a plan to escape the threat - see various info.

With these said and presented to you at the beginning of the game, came into the scene the characters, Styx and Arkhail; the first one is an intelligent goblin, capable to make himself unseen and unheard; the second one is a giant beast, that become crazy every time he hits someone and he has survived some horrible fights against humans. These two characters are made to work together, and for this reason the player will have two different game play styles, but they are both necessary to get to the end of the adventure - get your adventure.

Styx combines the stealth that allows him to kill enemies and to not be detected and he has a strong efficiency at big distances. Arkhail, like every respectable orc can handle a sword like a master and when he enters the Rage trance, he can kill everything he gets.

The key to success in this game is to create a balance between these two characters according to the situations and to use the tactic system created by the producers. You will have three main options – attack, defense and magic –and you will be able to use all of the pretty quickly, one after another.

While you get through the 20 hours of gaming, the characters evolve and they improve their skills, plus they will have all kind of equipment available. Unfortunately, many of these options are pretty limited, you will not have an impressive weapon selection to choose from, so you will not have many things to sell in order to buy new ones. Of Orcs and Men is a good game, but I can’t tell you that it is an impressive one. It still has many down sides and the only great thing about this game is the tactic system, but you will enjoy it only if you like to plan and create strategies.
